Ebix Inc., an Atlanta-based company that designs software for insurance and healthcare companies, said it has purchased 11.6 acres in Johns Creek for a new headquarters and corporate campus.

The purchase, including 100,000 square feet of office space, was made in Johns Creek Technology Park, a mixed-use development in Fulton County.

Ebix said it paid $12.5 million for the property, which is being purchased from TPA Group. The office space is near Emory Johns Creek Hospital.

Ebix, which has more than 35 offices globally, said it will save money by consolidating some of its offices at one location.

An Ebix spokesman said the company’s three local offices, including its principal office at Concourse Corporate Center in Sandy Springs, will move to the new campus. The company did not say how many employees will end up there.

Johns Creek Technology Park is a 1,900-acre development created in 1981 by a group of Georgia Tech graduates. The park has more than 5.8 million square feet of developed office and industrial space. Companies in the park employ more than 10,000 workers.

Ebix Corporate Vice President Darren Joseph said the company hopes to be working out of the new headquarters in early 2015.
