New owners are bringing a new look to Northchase Apartments in Dunwoody.

The 519-apartment community has been purchased by Atlanta-based Cortland Partners. The purchase and renovations cost the multi-family real estate firm $15.2 million, according to a news release from Cortland.

Northchase was purchased as a distressed asset, after it was foreclosed on in 2009, the release said.

The community has one-, two- and three bedroom residences, two pools, a community center, clubhouse and playground.

The renovations, expected to last six months, will include “significant upgrades and repairs to the exteriors and amenities,” the release said.

The apartments are located just outside I-285 on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.
