The Delta International ticket line was busy Tuesday. In an AJC sampling of Tuesday morning fliers at Hartsfield International Airport, much of the flying public felt positive about the announced Delta/Northwest merger.

Delta and Northwest airlines announced a $17.7 billion merger Monday night that will create the world's largest carrier headquartered in Atlanta with major hubs across the globe. The mega-airline, which will be called Delta, will have more than $35 billion in combined revenue and about 75,000 employees.

Delta Chief Executive Richard Anderson who was CEO of Northwest from 2001 to 2004, will remain CEO of the combined companies.

Mike King, who was flying out on Northwest Tuesday, has 3.1 million miles logged on Delta and is pleased about the merger saying " It worked out for me" since he flies to Minneapolis often.
