Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines named oil industry executive Graeme Burnett its senior vice president of fuel optimization, effective Aug. 1.

Burnett, who was previously Total Petrochemicals’ chief executive of petrochemicals and refining for the United States, will oversee Delta’s fuel program, including the Trainer, Pa. oil refinery it purchased last year through newly-created subsidiary Monroe Energy.

Burnett, who is from the United Kingdom, will also chair Monroe Energy’s Board of Directors.
