Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines announced it is launching a code-share marketing agreement with Canadian low-cost carrier WestJet.

The two carriers will partner on flights within the United States and Canada, expanding an interline agreement that started last year.

The new agreement will involve Delta putting its code on WestJet flights to more than 15 cities, expanding the route network for travelers and allowing frequent fliers to earn miles on the code-share flights. The code-sharing includes flights to Canada from the United States and flights within Canada.

Also as part of the agreement, WestJet will put its code on Delta flights in five markets.
