Delta expects 7.8 million holiday passengers

Delta Air Lines said it expects to fly nearly 7.8 million passengers between Dec. 19 and Jan. 4.
The busiest day during that period is expected to be Friday Jan. 2, when the Atlanta-based airline expects to have more than half a million customers.
For U.S. airlines overall, passenger traffic over the holiday travel period is expected to be up about 2 percent from last year, according to airline industry group Airlines for America.
