Delta cancels hundreds of flights amid Northeast snowstorms

Feb 10, 2010

Delta Air Lines said it will cancel about 450 more flights Thursday, after scrubbing 960 Wednesday as a blizzard shut down several northeast airports.

The effects of the storm are expected to linger into Thursday, Delta spokesman Trebor Banstetter said, even though clearing skies are forecast in the northeast.

AirTran Airways said on its Web site that travel to Washington, New York and some other cities could be affected through Friday.

Both carriers urge travelers to check flight status online. They are waiving certain fees for passengers who rescheduled flights to avoid the storms.
