Cox Enterprises, the parent company of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, announced it has reached a definitive agreement to sell two Texas newspapers — the Longview News-Journal and the Marshall News Messenger — to Houston-based ASP Westward.

The newspapers were the last that Atlanta-based Cox was still attempting to sell since putting more than 29 publications on the market last year. Cox sold or agreed to sell 20 of the publications. It pulled the Austin (Texas) American-Statesman and related non-dailies off the block earlier this year after failing to get high enough offers.
