Coffee shop comes to Bank of America building
Bank of America Plaza is getting a jolt.
The building, on Peachtree Street NE and North Avenue in Atlanta, will be the home of an Octane coffee "pocket bar," said Gene Kansas Commercial Real Estate president Gene Kansas. Kansas worked with Octane's local owners, Tony and Diane Riffel, to conceptualize the space.
The 1.2 million square foot building -- the tallest building in Atlanta and 9th tallest in the country -- has a bank branch and a health club, but no real gathering place in its lobby, Kansas said. Law firm Troutman Sanders is headquartered there, and is the building's largest tenant.
The coffee shop will have an eight-and-a-half-year lease, and will be located on just over 900 square feet in the lobby's west wing. Octane, which has two other locations in Atlanta but is closing one, in Emory Village, later this month, will open by March 1 in the Bank of America Plaza.
The space will have seating, Wi-Fi access and music.
"It gives it personality," Kansas said.
In addition to coffee and espresso, the coffee bar will sell Holman & Finch pastries, Sublime Doughnuts, sandwiches, salads, fruits and juices.
