Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Co., the longest continuous corporate supporter of the Olympics, is linking itself to the upcoming Vancouver Olympic Winter Games with a large marketing program in the United States. It includes TV commercials, 700 million commemorative cans, and images of Olympic athletes -- including Apolo Anton Ohno (short track speed skating), Gretchen Bleiler (snowboard), Angela Ruggiero (ice hockey), and figure skaters Evan Lysacek, Keauna McLaughlin and Rockne Brubaker. It will also include a presence on NBCOlympics.com and NBCOlympics mobile, with an application that plays sounds related to the Games (like air horns and cowbells) and the sounds associated with drinking a Coke (ice clinking, pouring, and -- of course -- “ahh”).
