Coca-Cola on Thursday reported a 4 cent dividend increase, one week after reporting earnings for the fourth quarter and for the year.

The Atlanta company said its quarterly dividend is up 8.5 percent from 47 cents to 51 cents a share.

"This is equivalent to an annual dividend of $2.04 per share, up from $1.88 per share in 2011," Coke said in its announcement.

The dividend will be payable April 1 to shareholders of record  on March 15, 2012.
