Coca-Cola Co. said its Minute Maid Pulpy juice has joined its roster of billion-dollar brands, giving it 14 such brands.

Minute Maid Pulpy reached the $1 billion sales mark five years after it was launched in China. Coca-Cola said it was the first time one of its brands developed and launched in an emerging market reached that level. Minute Maid Pulpy is also sold in Indonesia, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, India, Malaysia, and Vietnam, among other countries. Coca-Cola said it will hit additional markets this year.

Joseph Tripodi, chief marketing and commercial leadership officer at Coca-Cola, called Pulpy's rise to billion-dollar status "a historic milestone" for Coca-Cola. The company is the world's biggest seller of juice and juice drinks.
