Coca-Cola finalizes deal to take over CCE's North American bottling business

Coca-Cola Co. announced on Sunday morning that it had closed a $12 billion-plus deal with bottler Coca-Cola Enterprises, giving Coca-Cola control over CCE's territory in North America. Meanwhile, CCE gets territories in Norway and Sweden and gets about $8.9 billion in debt wiped off its books. CCE's shareholders approved the deal by a large margin on Friday, removing the last obstacle, and the closing this weekend was expected.
