CNN Center and Turner Broadcasting through the years

Atlanta-based Turner Broadcasting is planning substantial renovations at its landmark downtown CNN Center (above) as well as to the Techwood complex in Midtown as the media company continues a broader overhaul of its businesses. Read more here. -- Text by J. Scott Trubey / AJC

2010 -- A crowd of protesters outside of CNN walked from Woodruff Park to Underground and then to CNN Center chanting along the way against the media coverage of the Afghan war.

2007 -- The iconic CNN sign outside of CNN Center is a popular destination for hometown Atlantans and visitors to the city alike. Taking a photo with the CNN sign has become a tradition, especially for visitors.

1983 -- The old Turner Broadcasting System headquarters building at 1050 Techwood Drive near Georgia Tech was home to WTBS and CNN.
