Chipotle, usually known for its burritos and bowls, is getting a lot of attention for its latest jobs announcement.
The company has announced it plans to hire 4,000 employees in one day as part of its first-ever National Career Day.
According to a news release, every U.S. location of the fast-casual Mexican food chain will hold interviews for up to 60 applicants from 8 to 11 a.m. Sept. 9.
Those interested in interviewing can register ahead of time on the National Career Day website.
Chipotle has long been known for its efforts to promote from within: In its news release, the company says that in the past year, it has promoted more than 10,000 employees to management positions from hourly-wage roles.
Most positions hired as part of National Career Day will be entry-level.
"When we hire crew, we look to identify individuals that we think have the motivation and the capability to move into management or leadership positions," Chipotle spokesman Chris Arnold told USA Today.
The company's hiring spree is an example of how some restaurants are struggling to find and keep their employees, the Wall Street Journal reports.
"The economy has been thawing, more restaurants are opening, and there are fewer job applicants than there were several years ago," Chipotle co-CEO Monty Moran told the Wall Street Journal.
The restaurant recently expanded benefits, offering all employees paid time off, sick pay and free tuition. Chipotle currently employees about 60,000 people.
