An international textile company announced plans Monday to build a new campus in Cartersville and is expected to contribute hundreds of jobs to the manufacturing industry’s ongoing revival in North Georgia.

Beaulieu International Group is a Belgian producer of floor coverings. Its $250 million investment in Bartow County is expected to create about 350 high-end manufacturing jobs over five years.

It is one of many manufacturing companies investing heavily in a region that suffered through double-digit unemployment numbers and thousands of cut jobs during the Great Recession, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor.

“This is the type of investment and high-end manufacturing jobs which we have been working toward,” Cartersville Mayor Matt Santini said.

The company’s 120-acre campus will be located behind the properties of another Belgian company, Anheuser-Busch, and is expected to be operational by the end of 2015.
