Columbus-based Carmike Cinemas has purchased three Atlanta-area movie theaters from MNM Theatres. The theaters are called Movies ATL on Princeton Lakes Parkway in Atlanta, Movies 278 on Metromont Road in Hiram, and Movies 400 on Atlanta Road in Cumming. Carmike did not disclose the purchase price.

With the new theaters, Carmike has 25 entertainment complexes in Georgia.

“We are delighted to complete this transaction, which further expands our growing footprint in Carmike’s home state of Georgia,” company president and CEO David Passman said in a statement. “More than 10 percent of our circuit is based here and we have our 26th entertainment complex set to open in Winder before year-end.”

Carmike said it will convert any remaining analog screens in the theaters it purchased to digital ones, and will add some 3-D screens.
