Atlanta-based Hodges Management and Leasing Co., was acquired by Toronto-based Avison Young.
All of Hodges’ 37 employees will work for Avison, and Hodges’ seven principals will become principals of the Canadian firm.
Avison has been expanding rapidly in the United States in the last few years, with offices in Chicago, Houston, and Tysons Corner, Va., where it recently acquired Appian Realty Advisors. Avison now has 21 offices with 700 employees in the United States and Canada.
Hodges has been an Atlanta fixture since 1958. It was owned by The Blackstone Group from 1999-2005, then spun off from ING Clarion in 2008, according to a release from Avison.
The Canadian firm was founded 1978, and now manages 19.3 million square feet throughout the Southeast, and a total of 50 million square feet companywide.
