Two battery companies, GS Yuasa Lithium Power and its sister company, GS Batteries USA, have moved from Alpharetta into a 40,000-square-foot building at the Northmeadow Office Park in Roswell and will hold a grand opening Friday.

GS Yuasa Lithium Power leased the Roswell building to fulfill a contract with a NASA subcontractor. The firm will assemble battery packs to be used on cargo spaceships carrying supplies to the International Space Station, said company president William Moll. GS Battery recently signed a partnership agreement with Suniva, a local producer of solar panels, to provide solar power systems.

The companies are part of GS Yuasa of Japan.
