Austin-based Tex-Mex restaurant chain Chuy’s Holdings reported that revenue increased 40.3 percent in the fourth quarter compared with same quarter a year ago.

The company’s revenue grew to $46.7 million for the quarter ended Dec. 30, thanks in part to 10 new restaurants opened during and subsequent to the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011.

The company reported net income of $2.6 million compared with $300,000 in the same quarter last year.

For fiscal 2012, Chuy’s said revenue increased 32.2 percent to $172.6 million. Net income, meanwhile, increased to $5.5 million from $3.5 million.

Founded in 1982, Chuy’s operates 40 restaurants in eight states.
