Atlanta-based Executive Courier and Logistics will be acquired by Michigan-based Hazen Transport.

Hazen has agreed in principle to acquire the 80-person company as of Jan. 1.

In a statement, Hazen spokesman Mike Scott said the deal will provide additional efficiencies and combine Hazen's two existing local operations  -- in Atlanta and Buford -- into Executive Courier and Logistics' Ottley Drive facility in Atlanta.

Executive Courier and Logistics’ CEO and president Robert Divosevic will helm the Atlanta operation, which will keep the former company's name. It will have 95 delivery drivers.

The consolidation is expected to be completed Feb. 1. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the combined operation will finish 2010 with more than $8 million in revenue in Atlanta, the statement said. For the year, Hazen's revenues are $40.15 million.

Hazen's primary customer in Atlanta is Office Depot;  Executive Courier and Logistics’ clients include office supply, medical equipment and health care companies.

Hazen plans to continue making acquisitions in cities where it already has a presence, Hazen CEO and President Rick Palmer said in the statement. The company provides "final mile delivery" in 23 U.S. locations.
