The world's busiest airport has moved off-airport parking shuttle pick-ups at the domestic terminal to the Terminal North lower level. The move makes way for construction.

Those shuttles used to line up in designated spaces along an aisle of the ground transportation center outside the airport's west exit door. Major construction projects planned for that area include an InterContinental Hotel to be built next to the airport's west exit.

The new off-airport parking shuttle location will be in place for the next two years or so, according to airport officials. Arriving passengers who need to catch shuttles to off-airport parking should now take Terminal North escalators down to the lower level, exit through door LN1 and turn left. Signs and customer service representatives in bright green jackets are there to help.

There was still some confusion Monday morning as some passengers headed to the old pick-up area. At the new pick-up area, parking shuttles line up along the curb instead of waiting at designated spots for each company. Passengers can check in at a podium for information.

There is no change for shuttle drop-offs, which will continue to be at the outer curb on the upper level of Terminal North. Family and friends picking up travelers can still go to the Terminal North lower level for less-congested curbside pickup along the main lower level curb beyond the initial shuttle pickup zone.

Airport officials plan to later announce more changes for shuttle locations this fall as construction progresses.
