AirWatch, a growing maker of mobile device management and security systems, said Sunday it landed a $200 million investment led by a major venture capital firm.

Sandy Springs-based AirWatch announced on Sunday the investment led by Insight Venture Partners at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

AirWatch said the funds will be used for “strategic acquisitions, (to) accelerate global growth and drive innovation and adoption of” one of the company’s key suites of products.

Earlier this year, AirWatch announced it was expanding its Sandy Springs-based workforce by 800 people, with additional jobs to be created worldwide. The company develops software to help companies manage and secure information on smartphones, tablets and laptops.
