More Southern fare is on the plate for downtown Atlanta.

The Atlanta Development Authority said Wednesday it is lending Peachtree Baker, LLC, which owns the company that operates Max Lager’s Wood-Fired Grill & Brewery, a $125,000 loan to open White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails in the 270 Peachtree Street building.

The new eatery, which will open early next year and serve Southern cuisine, is expected to create around 50 jobs.

The ADA loan will be used to help the restaurant's owners, Cindy and Alan LeBlanc, renovate the former All Star Cafe space, the site of the new eatery. Overall rehabilitation is expected to cost about $1.3 million.

The ADA did not include terms of the loan in the Wednesday announcement.

In the press release, Alan LeBlanc said the ADA has been very supportive in the past with Max Lager's.

“When it came time to expand once again, they were ready to assist us with the financing for our second downtown restaurant, White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails, where we look to create another 50 jobs," he said.
