Is it possible to simultaneously build good karma and attract attention for Atlanta’s tech scene? On Monday, the Technology Association of Georgia and the Metro Atlanta Chamber announced a contest with $30,000 in cash and prize for hackers who come up with the best mobility solution for three Atlanta-based non-profits: the American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Points of Light/Hands on Network.

The non-profits generally want to connect with better with recipients and donors. The contest starts Aug. 19, with demos due Sept. 17. It's being held in conjunction with the second Mobility LIVE, a conference local boosters helped organize to focus on the area of mobile technology standards, innovation and strategies.
