, creator of “The Boondocks,” is not doing interviews but Adult Swim allowed me to screen the first episode of the new season, which begins Sunday night at 11:30 p.m.  after a two-year break.

The plot line is typically satirical: Huey Freeman, noted for his big hair and permanent scowl, is named a "hostile youth" and "ten-year-old domestic terrorist" linked to Barack Obama in October 2008 because they were friends on MySpace. (Wasn't MySpace already passe even by 2008?)

He is visited by a journalist, who talks to Huey, his brother Riley (identified as “local hoodlum” thrilled that a black president will allow him to freely be a hoodlum) and their grandfather Robert, called a “civil rights legend” who the journalist says is either a “pathological liar” or in the “early stages of dementia.” He also talks to mixed race neighbors who happen to be Obama volunteers and Uncle Ruckus, who supported John McCain and hates anti-Obama. Plus, rapper Thugnificant jumps on the Obama bandwagon.

Even with Obama about to be elected, Huey remained suitably miserable. When asked about Obama, he just says, “Eh,” which angers other blacks.

As a result, Huey ponders making a run for Canada with Uncle Ruckus. I won’t say how it plays out but don’t worry, Huey fans. He somehow survives an Obama presidency without ending up in the land of Wayne Gretzky and Celine Dion.
