Comic Chris Tucker and Fox 5 anchor Cynne Simpson attended Mayor Kasim Reed's annual charity masked ball Dec. 20 at the Marriott Marquis, but they were not masked in any way. They went around as a loving couple and a photo of the two of them together shows Simpson with a very large rock on her engagement finger.

In September, I wrote about their relationship, with two sources telling me they were engaged.

Are they married? A source who said she was at the party told me Tucker was introducing Simpson around as his wife. But I have no direct proof of that. A source inside Fox 5 said they are just engaged.

Two images of Tucker and Simpson together at the ball is available through Getty Images but we at the AJC do not have rights to said photo.(It would have cost a whopping $520 for us to do so for each.)

UPDATE: I have been told in comments I can post a portion of the Getty photos via an embed code free of charge so here we go:

You can see the photo here, taken by Prince Williams. Another shot of them on the red carpet is here There are other photos of them together prior to the event as well.

Simpson, 36, has been at Fox 5 since 2013, replacing Amanda Davis, who has not found new TV work since her post-DUI departure. She did a feature on Tucker for Fox 5 in November, 2013. Simpson worked at WGCL-TV for a brief time in the mid-2000s before anchoring in D.C. for several years.

Tucker, best known as a stand-up comic and star of the "Rush Hour" films, is 43. Besides a small role in "Silver Linings Playbook" in 2012 and occasional stand-up dates, the Decatur native has kept a fairly low profile in recent years.

The United Negro College Fund's Mayor's Masked Ball, a black tie and gown affair, is in its 31st year. According to Straight From the A, the evening's honorees were Rev. Dr. C.T. Vivian and Dr. Joseph Lowery and the event was sponsored by The Coca-Cola Company, Delta Air Lines and UPS.

Other attendees included Ludacris, Big Boi, "Ride Along" and "Think Like a Man" producer Will Packer, Young Jeezy, Ambassador Andrew Young, Chaka Khan and Phaedra Parks.
