Fox’s “America’s Most Wanted” focusing on Vernon Forrest Saturday

“The Vernon Forrest case has national interest,” she said.

As of Friday, she admits AMW doesn’t have any major revelations on the Forrest story, but they will be able to give it more exposure. “AMW” frequently draws 5 to 6 million viewers.

“I’m surprised it has not been a bigger story,” she said. “He’s not only a national champion but he did so many great things for the community.”

The second case involves Kisha "Key" Marie Rutledge, wanted for felony murder.

Keith Brown, a customer, apparently bragged about going around Rutledge and paying the prostitutes directly. Rutledge, who Hartmann said “scared everybody because she rules by intimidation,” was not pleased when she heard the news. She hired three guys to help kill him and steal his money. On June 12, 2007, she did just that.

The other three have been caught and prosecuted. Two years later, she’s still wanted. “This was interesting to me because she wasn’t just this very bad female but ruthless.”

Since the first case aired in March, Hartmann said the cops have gotten a few leads and she has been seen in different places but they have yet to catch her. They hope another airing (which features a re-enactment of the murder) will vet out more leads.
