B Simone was one of those young talents who figured out six years ago how to leverage the power of Instagram.

She was already well-versed on MySpace and Pinterest and other social media outlets. But Instagram became her jam.

She possessed several key ingredients to bring in fans: super attractive, an ability to sing and dance and having a sense of humor.

So over that time, she has collected an impressive 4.6 million followers — more than NeNe Leakes, LeToya Luckett, Kenya Moore or Kim Zolciak.

B Simone, who moved to Atlanta four years ago,  is now a stand-up comic as well as a cosmetics designer and R&B  singer.

If this pandemic hadn't started last month, she'd still be touring with Martin Lawrence on his national tour, which stopped at State Farm Arena last month just before such mass events were shut down. And she was thrilled to do it.

“I was the only female, only millennial on stage,” she said.

She said she only began doing stand-up three years ago. Her comedic chops were greatly developed when she made it on the cast of Nick Cannon's MTV show "Wild-n-Out" starting in 2017. She has appeared over five seasons, including ones shot in Atlanta where she said the audiences were more "lit" than those in New York.

But doing improv in that raucous environment was a challenge.

“It’s hard,” she said. “You have to be quick and on your toes. It’s been dope. Nick Cannon is one of the best mentors I’ve ever had. He’s so supportive.”

Doing comedy is currently on hold for B Simone. She is focusing on things she can do. She is focused on promoting and selling thousands of units of her own lip gloss.

“I always wanted to get into cosmetics,” B Simone said. “I did hair for 15 years. A year and a half ago, I went to find a formula and a message behind it: ‘Faith over fear.’” She even took a trip to China and found herself a factory.

And she has already sold 16,000 copies of her self-published advice book "Baby Girl: Just Manifest The Life You Want" via social media.

“Manifesting is something I’ve done all my life,” she said. “I used to use the phrase ‘law of attraction.’ It’s the same thing. I learned it from ‘The Secret.’ It told me how to attract what I want.”

B Simone, who lives in Buckhead, has eight employees working feverishly to keep up with orders for both her book and her lip gloss.

“I’m doing OK during COVID,” she said. “But my heart goes out to those who have lost family and friends. I’m grateful I’m safe.”
