Two well-received series face second seasons: FX's "The Bridge" on Wednesday and Showtime's "Masters of Sex" Sunday.

Halle Berry for the first time stars in a TV series Wednesday in CBS's 'Extant," a Steven Spielberg produced sci-fi mystery and major risk for CBS. Then again, CBS had surprise hit "Under the Dome" last summer, so you never know what might stick.

On a lesser note, Leah Remini of "King of Queens" fame and recently on "Dancing With the Stars" grapples with life after Scientology on a new TLC reality show Thursday, the same night NBC brings forth two new sitcoms "Welcome to Sweden" and "Working the Engels." When was the last time a network generated a hit sitcom in the summer? Personally, I can't even think of an example from this century.

One Atlanta-shot show debuts on Tuesday on MTV: "Finding Carter" about a teen who finds out her mom kidnapped her when she was three years old. She is thrust into a life with her birth family that is foreign to her.

Another Atlanta-shot show "Devious Maids" finishes its second season on Sunday. Ratings are down from season one so I'm not sure whether Lifetime will bring it back for a third season.
