Anderson Cooper of CNN will be debuting his own syndicated talk show. It's already been cleared in 82 percent of the country, including local NBC affiliate WXIA-TV.

Laura Hale, vice president for marketing and programming at WXIA,  said Cooper's show will likely take the 3 p.m. spot currently held by "Dr. Oz."  WAGA-TV, Fox 5, outbid WXIA for Oz's services. Hale said several Fox affiliates took Dr. Oz away from other affiliates.

I am now checking with WAGA-TV about why they decided to get Dr. Oz.

Cooper will remain at CNN as well where he has a primetime news show. He's not the only one who juggles both a news show and a syndicated show. Nancy Grace does the same with "Swift Justice" and her HLN show. Joy Behar does both "The View" and her own show on HLN.

According to a press release this past September:

Cooper will address water cooler topics and interview the real people, populist newsmakers and celebrities behind these stories. From undercover investigations to hidden camera experiments, the show will give the audience new perspective in an effort to gain insight into relevant issues and social trends affecting women's lives. In addition, Cooper will hold town hall meetings on hot button issues from race to infidelity to Internet predators.
