CLEVELAND -- It's such a small paragraph in this New York Times sourced piece on the speaker schedule for next week's Republican National Convention here. And certainly, things could change. Nonetheless, Wednesday's line-up may say something:

Night 3: Ms. Bondi; Ms. Collins; Newt Gingrich, a former House speaker; Senator Ted Cruz of Texas; Eric Trump; Ms. Gulbis; and the nominee for vice president.

The partial list of speakers the RNC released this morning also puts other reported VP finalists on the agenda: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions and retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn. Nowhere to be found? Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

Trump said he plans to formally make his VP announcement on Friday morning.

The RNC's list includes seven congressmen, six senators, a half-dozen current or former governors, Trump's wife and four children and several religious leaders. Also not on the list: unabashed Trump supporter Sen. David Perdue.
