WASHINGTON -- Hillary Clinton is putting boots on the ground in all 50 states in her quest for the presidency and has hired a former Michelle Nunn staffer for her Georgia bid.
Her campaign insists this is all about winning the Democratic primary, and we're sure former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley has Clinton quaking in her boots, but you can bet that the Clinton camp is searching for a way to move Georgia into the swing-state column by November 2016.
Ramone Rushing comes to the Clinton campaign from Georgia Unites Against Discrimination. The Morehouse alum was deputy political director for Nunn's 2014 campaign.
Rushing will represent the campaign's Ramp Up Grassroots Organizing Program, with the goal of getting volunteers and supporters organized for Clinton in every state and territory. There is a video to go along with it.
The campaign plans to convene house parties to watch a forthcoming big introductory speech by Clinton next month, when she is to explain why she's running for president.
Here's what Clinton spokesman Tyrone Gayle had to say:
"Hillary Clinton is focused on working hard to earn every vote, run hard in early primary and caucus states and not take anything for granted. She looks forward to talking to Georgia voters in the months to come and competing in the Georgia primary."
