The early-morning commute from parts of Cobb County toward downtown Atlanta were smooth. On the East-West Connector in Smyrna, there was no black ice during the 5 a.m. hour.

I-285 was also relatively clear, although intermittent highway signs warned drivers of icy conditions.

Catching 400 South off of I-285 toward Buckhead, the roads were clear. No black ice was seen or felt on the roads or the bridges – just the sound of road salt pelting the bottom of cars.
