The Georgia Department of Transportation had 11 trucks, each carrying 5,000 gallons of a salt brine solution, pre-treating roadways Wednesday morning ahead of the snow. The trucks were pre-treating all metro interstates as well as I-75 north to the Tennessee line, I-20 east and west of Atlanta and I-85 northward from metro Atlanta.

Metro Atlantans were bracing Wednesday morning for an afternoon winter storm that forecasters said could deliver dump several inches of snow across parts of the area. A winter storm warning goes into effect at 10 a.m. for 50 Georgia counties. Full story.
