' The Big Bang Theory " has made numerous references to " Star Trek ," Starfleet and, in particular, Spock.

Despite that, Leonard Nimoy, the actor who played Spock in the original "Star Trek" series and in movies (for those of you who didn't already know that), never actually appeared on the show. Nimoy died in February.

The memory of Spock, however, will live long and prosper next week. Nimoy's son Adam Nimoy will be on the show in an episode titled, "The Spock Resonance," according to cbs.com .

Adam Nimoy, a writer and director, will play himself. He will ask Sheldon to appear in a documentary he is doing about his famous father.
