GDOT crews clear water backups on Piedmont at Miami Circle on Mon., Nov. 2, 2015. JOHN SPINK / JSPINK@AJC.COM

Most of Piedmont Road is shut down due to flooding in the area near Miami Circle.

The Atlanta Police Department posted this tweet on its Twitter page:

"Flooding Alert! Piedmont Rd and Miami Cir. Piedmont is SHUT DOWN to one lane."
