AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young mourned by Eddie Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, David Coverdale

Malcolm Young was considered one of the most potent rhythm guitarists in rock 'n' roll.

Though he was the co-founder of AC/DC whose riffs drove many of their most muscular tunes, his younger brother Angus usually received the spotlight.

Young died Saturday at the age of 64, having suffered the past few years from dementia.

His last tour with the band was the 2008-10 world excursion behind its 15th studio album, "Black Ice." The tour stopped for two dates in Atlanta in 2008 and 2009 at Philips Arena.

It's been a few weeks of loss for the Young family, as Angus and Malcolm lost their older brother and the band's longtime producer, George, on Oct. 23, at the age of 70.
