The extraordinary life of Glen Campbell will be explored in the docu-film “I’ll Be Me,” which opens at the Plaza Theatre on Dec. 12.

Along with vintage footage and new performances from Campbell's recent farewell tour – here is my review of his show at Chastain Park Amphitheatre with Kenny Rogers in 2012 – artists as varied as Bruce Springsteen, Blake Shelton, Steve Martin and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers discuss the Rhinestone Cowboy's enduring legacy.

Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011 and has reportedly entered the final stages of the disease.

“I’ll Be Me,” produced by James Keach (who produced the Oscar-winning Johnny Cash biopic “Walk the Line” in 2005), also includes conversations with Campbell’s family about the debilitating disease.

The film opened in New York and Nashville in October and is gradually being released across the nation.

Here’s a look at the poignant trailer.
