They've asked local county commissioners in Brunswick to take action and even appealed to Gov. Nathan Deal to reopen a brutal police shooting case.
Now, the activists in the Justice For Caroline Small group plan to make a direct appeal to the Brunswick community to help their cause.

The group, most of them church friends from Tallahassee who are close to Small's mother, will host a town hall meeting in Brunswick on Thursday to seek community support for their efforts.
The effort comes after a series of investigative stories Last year by the AJC/Channel 2 Action News last year uncovered troubling facts about the shooting and the way local district attorney, Jackie Johnson, handled the case. In November, a group of ex-prosecutors in the Glynn County DA's office came forward to accuse their former boss of mishandling the case and violating prosecutorial ethics. One called the shooting a "murder and it was covered up."
"The plan is to meet with local citizens in the Glynn County area to more fully inform them what the journalists have uncovered and to seek their support to contact their local officials about the way this case was handled," said Frank Walper, one of the leaders in the Tallahassee group.
The town hall will be held Thursday from 4 to 7:30 pm at Old City Hall, 1229 Newcastle St., in Brunswick.
