In Class AAAAAA, the Lambert boys debut at No. 1. The Longhorns are 3-0 on the year and have outscored their opponents by a combined 53-6. Last year’s runner-up Pope comes in at No. 2 and Area 6 neighbor Lassiter opens the year at No. 3. Last year’s state champion Roswell dropped a 7-6 opener to Alpharetta and comes in at No. 7.
On the girls side, 10-time state champion Milton returns to No. 1 and last year’s runner-up Walton takes No. 2 with a roster full of Division I signees. Harrison opened its season with a 17-5 win over Pope and debuts at No. 5.
In Class A-AAAAA defending champion and No. 1 Westminster boys are off to a 2-0 start with a 13-5 win over Whitefield Academy and an 18-7 victory over Sprayberry. No. 3 Allatoona scored a 13-11 win over No. 4 Lovett, which handled Starr’s Mill 15-3 on Thursday.
The Kell girls and two-time defending champs retain their No. 1 status in Class A-AAAAA with Westminster coming in at No. 2. Cambridge, Blessed Trinity and Creekview round out the top 6.
