Week 6 lacrosse rankings

In Class 6A-7A, No. 1 Lambert had a strong week following its 17-3 win over Walton. The top-ranked Longhorns dominated Chattahoochee 19-2 on Friday before scoring an 18-2 win over Milton on Tuesday. No. 2 Mill Creek defeated Collins Hill 14-6 on Wednesday to improve to 13-0 and Centennial solidified its place at No. 3 with an impressive 14-6 win over Lassiter on Tuesday. No. 4 Johns Creek’s only loss remains its 10-9 defeat to Mill Creek on March 3 and the Gladiators ride a five-game winning streak heading into a pair of out of state matchups next week. Milton dropped back-to-back games to Lambert and Roswell, but remains No. 7 with victories over Walton and West Forsyth on its resume.

In Class A-5A, No. 1 Westminster improved its winning streak to nine games with a 14-4 win over Whitefield Academy on Wednesday. No. 2 Lovett scored a 14-10 win over Allatoona on Saturday and will have home matches with Wesleyan and Darlington before the much-anticipated trip to No. 1 Westminster on April 7. Buford’s 8-7 win over Cambridge on Tuesday adds to the No. 4 ranked Wolves key March victories that include Blessed Trinity and Pope.

In the girls 6A-7A rankings, Lassiter jumped Walton for No. 3. Walton suffered a 16-10 loss to Blessed Trinity last Friday, a team Lassiter defeated 9-4 last month. Kennesaw Mountain defeated Lambert 7-5 on Wednesday to replace the Longhorns at No. 10 in the poll. McIntosh debuts at No. 10 in the Class A-5A poll with a 7-0 record and a 19-13 win over Decatur on its resume.
