Walton wins Decoturf Tournament
Reigning Class AAAAAA champion Walton girls won the Decoturf High School Tennis Championship with a 7-0 win over Pine Crest of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Senior Suzanne Zenoni, who has committed to Elon, was named the MVP of the tournament, which was held in Chattanooga.
Walton beat Ocean Springs (Miss.) 9-0 and Blessed Trinity 5-2 to win its pool, then defeated Baylor (Tenn.), 9-0 in the semifinal.
Others on the Walton team are Jessica Cramer, Emily Gaskins, Grace Gaskins, Sophia Guldberg, Johanna Keeline, Bella Kusa, Sheena Mookerji, Kristen O’Brien and Anna Leigh Nielsen.
Cambridge finished fifth, beating Girls Prepartory 6-3 in the final game. Roswell finished eighth, Starr's Mill was 10th and Blessed Trinity placed 12th.
In the B Division, Milton finished sixth.

Columbus favored at 40th Hardaway Invitational
Columbus can make some history this weekend at the state’s oldest high school golf tournament.
The Blue Devils will try to become the first team in 36 years to win the Larry Gaither Hardaway Invitational for three straight years. The 40th annual tournament, a two-day even held at Bull Creek Golf Club, begins Friday.
A field of 23 teams will compete for the title, including Brookstone, the runner-up a year ago, North Oconee, Marist, Woodward Academy, Holy Innocents’, Woodstock and Etowah.
Columbus last year became the first team in more than a decade to successfully defend their championship. Columbus got a great effort in 2014 from Stanton Schorr and then-freshman Nolan Miller, who each shot even-par 144s.
Top players in the field include Will Chandler of Marist, David Mackey of North Oconee, Sam Asbury of Holy Innocents’ and George Stradtman of Woodward Academy.
The last time a team won the title for three straight years was Hardaway from 1976-79.
Mill Creek wins at Vidalia
Mill Creek won the 18th annual Indian Invitational at Hawks Point in Vidalia. The Hawks shot a two-day total of 609. Peter Chung (74), Phillip Beard (75), Seth McAfee (78) and Alex Markham (79) were Mill Creek's top scorers on the final day.
Harrison finished second with a 610, including a 301 on the second day. The Hoyas were led by Sam Maryland, who had a second-round 72, Luke Schniederjans, Chad Barfield and Nick Bell.
Lovett wins Lions Invitational
Lovett fought through the wind to claim the 11th annual Lions Invitational at Oak Mountain in Carrollton. The Lions shot a 313 to beat Brookwood by three shots. Allatoona and Heritage tied for third at 338, following Pace Academy with 340.
Brookwood’s Shawn Chong was medalist with a 1-under 71.
Colquitt girls win Lady Packer title
The Colquitt County girls won the Lady Packer Invitational at Sunset Country Club, further establishing the Packers as a contender for the Class AAAAAA title.
Colquitt County shot 240 and beat Tift County by 31 shots, despite playing without its No. 3 player.
Colquitt was led by medalist Elizabeth Funderburk with a 77 and Alexis Griner with a 78. Both are freshmen. Allison Fagan and Shelby Tidwell each shot 85s.
Tift County was led by freshman Kaysie Harrelson ‘s 80.
Camden County was third at 300, followed by Coffee with 301 and Lowndes with 349.
