Thomas DeWalt, a junior at Westminster, scored two hole-in-ones within a five day stretch while playing on the school’s golf team.

DeWalt’s first ace came on March 22 at Wolf Creek in the Westminster Invitational. It was the first of his life and helped the team place second. The second one came on March 27 at the High School Invitational at the Atlanta Athletic Club’s Highlands Course.

Forrester, Hurst wins Hall County titles: Bartley Forrester of North Hall won the Hall County championship at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in a playoff for the second straight year. Forrester tied with teammate Brennan Manson with 73s and prevailed on the second extra hole.

Marcie Hurst of Flowery Branch shot a 79 to win the girls division. Madison Stewart of Johnson finished second and Olivia Young of West Hall was third.

Gainesville won the boys and girls team titles. It was the 23rd time the Red Elephants have won the boys tournament.

The Gainesville boys were led by Ryan Hogan (75), Davis Weaver (76) and Brody Simmons and A.D. Winston (77s). Their 305 provided a nine-shot victory over North Hall. Flowery Branch was third.

The Gainesville girls shot a 293 to score a 13-shot margin of victory over West Hall. Johnson was third. Gainesville was led by Morgan Nichol with a 93.

Lanier Longhorn Invitational: Host Lanier got a 4-under 68 from Lizzie Reedy to score 218 and beat Starr's Mill by four shots. Alexis Brindley shot 74, including a 32 on the back nine, and Makenna Brindley shot a career-best 76.

North Murray Invitational: The Calhoun boys got a 75 from Hayden Hayes and a 78 from Avery Dodds to win the North Murray Invitational at Indian Trace in Chatsworth.

Lady Rambler Invitational: Dalton's Katelyn Skiffen was medalist and the Catamounts won the team title at the storm-shortened event at the LaFayette Golf Course. Calhoun was second, with North Murray in third.
