Coached by Bryan Lamar of the Tucker Tigers, Team Courage knocked off Team Valor 24-13 Saturday afternoon in the DeKalb County Football All-Star Game at Hallford Stadium.
In the first quarter, the scoring opened when Team Courage quarterback Garrett Rigby of Tucker scored on a 1-yard run. The conversion failed. Later in the first quarter Team Valor took a one-point lead on a 3-yard run by Equavius Huff of MLK and the extra point by Miller Grove’s Okevius Hawkins to claim a 7-6 advantage.
Team Courage took back the lead in the second quarter on a 62-yard interception return touchdown by Cedar Grove’s Sedrick Jefferson to go up 12-7.
In the third quarter, Tucker’s Rigby hit Trice Cramer of Redan on a 52-yard touchdown pass to make it 18-7 Team Courage. On the next possession, Huff scored for the second time for Team Valor, this time from 18-yards. The conversion was no good and the deficit remained 18-13.
Team Valor had one last chance on the final play of the game but on a quarterback strip, Redan’s Cramer picked up the ball and ran it in for a score from 11 yards out to make it 24-13.
