Pierce County is in the semifinals for the first time since the school was formed in 1981. From what two previous high schools, each named after a Pierce County town, was Pierce County High created? And for extra credit, what were their nicknames? (Answer Wednesday)

Answer to Monday's question: Warner Robins has the most semifinal teams of any city. Those would be Warner Robins and Northside. It's a 2.5-mile drive from one to the other. But it wasn't an easy question. Athens also "claims" two teams, Athens Academy and Prince Avenue Christian, but Prince Avenue, which originated in Athens, has a Bogart address. Others are close to each other but not in the same city. There's Stockbridge and Eagle's Landing Christian (McDonough) in Henry County, and Milton and Blessed Trinity (Roswell) in north Fulton County. Both pairs are about 5 miles apart. Callaway of Hogansville and Troup of LaGrange are 8 miles apart in Troup County. Marist of Atlanta and Cedar Grove of Ellenwood are 25 miles apart in DeKalb County. Gwinnett is the county with the most teams with three - Dacula, Archer and Lanier - though none is closer than 7 miles from another.
