The Wesleyan Wolves won a big game against No. 4 Pace Academy, and this week they were rewarded for their efforts in the new top 10 poll. The Wolves, who heading into the Pace matchup were ranked No. 8, jump four spots this week to take over Pace's spot in the rankings.
The Knights fell out of the top five with their loss, but remain in the rankings at No. 7. Pace takes over the No. 7 spot previously held by Dublin, which fell out of the rankings after being upset by unranked Metter.
Screven County's place in the polls was short-lived, having entered last week at No. 9 but then getting blown out at home by the Jefferson County Warriors. With the win, the Warriors become the only two-loss team inside the rankings, where they now hold Screven County's former spot.
Also entering the top 10 this week is Union County. For the second season in a row, the Panthers start the season 5-0 - they finished 9-2 last season. They've scored exactly 200 points thus far, good for a 40 points per game average. According to Georgia High School Football Daily, the Panthers are ranked by the AJC for the first time since 1985.
In other rankings shuffling, Model jumps two spots to No. 8. The rest of the rankings remained unchanged from the previous week (see below).
