Here's a look at some of the top AA boys and girls games taking place this weekend. Keep in mind weather conditions could postpone games.
Week 6. For a rundown of the current top 10, go here.
No. 2 Josey boys vs. Glenn Hills
When/where: Friday, 8:30 p.m. at Glenn Hills
Records: Josey is 12-3, 2-2 in Region 4; Glenn Hills is 10-5, 2-2
Last season: Josey went 3-0 against Glenn Hills
Notes: The Eagles and Glenn Hills are tied for fifth place in Region 4 with a 2-2 record. The Eagles are led by guard Jonathan Butler (12.9 points), while the Spartans are led by guard CJ Bowers (11.7).
No. 8 Putnam County boys vs. AAA's No. 6 Morgan County
When/where: Saturday, 8:30 p.m. at Putnam County
Records: Putnam County is 10-4; Morgan County is 10-3
Last season: DNP
Notes: Despite these teams being 20 minutes from each other, they haven't played since the 2012-13 season, when Morgan County beat them twice. But no players from those matchups are on the current teams. Guard Carl Johnson leads the Eagles with 27.8 points, while Morgan County is coming off a 73-70 overtime victory over AAAAA'3 No. 5 Cedar Shoals.
No. 5 Vidalia girls vs. Swainsboro
When/where: 7 p.m., Friday at Vidalia
Records: Vidalia is 10-3; 3-1 Region 2; Swainsboro is 8-4, 4-1
Last season: Series tied at 1-1
Notes: Both of last season's games were highly competitive, with Vidalia winning 62-56 in December and Swainsboro winning 58-57 in January. That competitiveness carried over into this season, with Swainsboro winning 60-54 on Dec. 2. Swainsboro is led by sophomore guard-forward Dynesha Brown, who averages 15.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.9 steals. Should Swainsboro beat Vidalia again, they should receive top 10 consideration while possibly booting the Lady Indians from the rankings.
No. 8 Dade County girls vs. North Murray
When/where: 7 p.m., Saturday at Dade County
Records: Dade County is 11-4; Murray County is 10-4
Last season: DNP
Notes: These two teams last played during the 2013-14 season, when North Murray won 42-41. Players from that season are now seniors. North Murray competes in AAA and is unranked.
No. 9 Hapeville Charter girls vs. Douglass
When/where: 6 p.m., Friday at Hapeville Charter
Records: Hapeville Charter is 9-4, 2-1 in Region 6; Douglass is 8-4, 3-1
Last season: DNP
Notes: These two last played in 2011-12, which was Hapeville's inaugural season, and Douglas won 96-13. Times have changed and now it's the Lady Hornets who are ranked and can pass Douglass in the region standings with a win. Hapeville is led by junior guard Shekinah Howard (17.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 1.8 steals, 1.5 blocks).
No. 10 Dublin girls vs. Washington County
When/where: 6 p.m., Friday at Dublin
Records: Dublin is 9-3, 1-0 in Region 3; Washington County is 5-3, 2-1
Last season: DNP
Notes: The teams last played during the 2012-13 season, when Dublin won 65-51. A Washington County win this season would knock the Lady Fighting Irish out of second place in the region and they'd take over. Dublin is led by junior guard Alexus Carr (15.5 points) while Washington County junior Nijeria Jordan averages 20.3 points.
