Colquitt County put on a passing show last week in its 54-17 victory over Lee County in a game between unbeaten teams from Region 1-AAAAAA. As a team, Colquitt was 32-of-38 for 428 yards and four touchdowns.
"We had guys draped all over them and they still hit them," Lee County coach Dean Fabrizio said. "If they throw and catch it like that, they will be hard for anyone to beat."
Some of the principals in that effort are part of this week's top individual performances.
Top five
*Carver of Columbus QB Jawon Pass was 15-of-28 passing for 292 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-50 victory over LaGrange. Pass, who is committed to Louisville, also scored two two-point conversions. Receivers Jacobi Cunningham (4-120-1) and Gerald Reid (4-131-1) were his main targets.
*Central Gwinnett WR Major Bellamy had 14 catches for 253 yards and a touchdown in a 33-28 loss to Brookwood. QB Micah Maxey was 27-of-39 passing for 462 yards and a touchdown.
*Colquitt County QB Chase Parrish was 25-of-30 passing for 314 yards and two touchdowns in a 54-17 victory over Lee County. Backup Jay Saunders was 7-of-8 for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Kiel Pollard had 12 catches for 143 yards.
*Dawson County QB Coey Watson was 23-of-37 passing for 289 yards and three touchdowns in a 54-40 victory over Franklin County. Watson also rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns in the game that put Dawson County in first place in Region 7-AAA. Dawson County has never won a region title.
*Madison County QB/FS David Metts rushed for 174 yards and four touchdowns in a 59-29 victory over Chestatee. Metts also was 14-of-25 passing for 237 yards and two touchdowns and had four tackles on defense. It was Madison County's first victory of the season.

*Allatoona RB Russell Halimon rushed for 243 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries in a 42-27 victory over New Manchester.
*Arabia Mountain RB Brandon Snowball rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries and scored a fourth TD on a 15-yard reception in a 24-14 victory over Redan.
*Benedictine RB Tylek Collins rushed for 201 yards and caught a 43-yard TD pass in a 48-0 victory over Jeff Davis.
*Brooks County QB Demontay Jones was 12-of-15 passing for 177 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-0 victory over Seminole County. Jones also rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.
*Cambridge RB J.D. White rushed for 215 yards on 18 carries and scored four touchdowns - two rushing, one receiving (12 yards) and one returning a punt (45 yards) - in a 42-17 victory over Sprayberry.
*Camden County LB Dondre Winn had 10 tackles, two for losses, and returned an interception for a touchdown in a 38-19 victory over Lowndes.
*Cartersville RB Tiamon Pennymon rushed for 142 yards and intercepted a pass in a 42-7 victory over Ridgeland.
*Cedar Grove LB Elyssee Mbem-Bosse had 12 tackles, four for losses, in a 20-0 victory over McNair.
*Centennial QB Caden Herring rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and had 79 yards receiving in a 38-35 victory over Alpharetta. It was Centennial's first victory over Alpharetta since 2009.
*Cook sophomore RB Brandon Doe rushed for 146 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries in only one half in a 43-14 victory over Toombs County.
*Christian Heritage RB/LB Ahmaad Tanner rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries and returned a kickoff 85 yards for a score in a 41-14 victory over Mount Zion. Tanner had 12 tackles on defense.
*Dodge County RB/DB Cameron Young rushed for 97 yards on 10 carries, made 9.5 tackles and broke up three passes in a 7-3 victory over Appling County.
*Drew WR Bryson Duckworth caught five passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns in a 54-0 victory over Morrow.
*Early County DB Calvin Brown returned a punt and an interception for touchdowns in 32-0 victory over Berrien. It is the second straight game that Brown has had two return touchdowns.
*Etowah QB Patrick Ferris was 12-of-16 passing for 210 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-20 victory over Milton.
*Fannin County QB Brad Davis was 18-of-23 passing for 446 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-35 victory over Lumpkin County. WR Cooper Earls had eight catches for 236 yards and two touchdowns.
*Forsyth Central RB Sabrian Howard rushed for 231 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries in a 39-33 loss to North Atlanta.
*Gordon Lee QB Caleb O'Neal was 12-of-16 passing for 232 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown and had a 54-yard punt in a 38-14 victory over Coosa.
*Howard QB Courvoisier King was 23-of-46 passing for 295 yards and three touchdowns in a 47-21 loss to Mary Persons. WR Alphonso Stephens had 10 receptions for 173 yards.
*LaGrange QB LaPerrion Perry rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns and was 18-of-30 passing for 200 yards and three interceptions in a 51-50 loss to Carver of Columbus.
*Lamar County LB Pippin Davis had 11 solo tackles, three assists, a sack and a tackle for loss in a 21-7 victory over Bleckley County.
*Locust Grove CB Drew Walsh had five tackles, defended five passes and returned an interception 67 yards for a touchdown in a 42-14 victory over Eastside. Locust Grove is 6-0.
*Mary Persons WR Jatori Sims had four catches and 151 yards and two touchdowns in a 47-21 victory over Howard.
*Mitchell County RB Kobe Butler rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries and returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown in a 42-0 victory over Baconton.
*Model QB/LB Kyler Eldridge rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns, passed for 66 yards and two touchdowns and made six tackles in a 36-7 victory over Armuchee.
*Mount Pisgah Christian LB J.R. Cendoya had 14 tackles, five solo, and one tackle for a loss in a 20-17 victory over Fellowship Christian.
*North Paulding QB Kyle Banks was 22-of-37 passing for 298 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 107 yards in a 55-35 loss to Hillgrove.
*Northwest Whitfield sophomore QB Luke Shiflett was 9-of-15 passing for 257 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-7 victory over Gilmer.
*Ola sophomore RB Chris Rodriguez rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown in a 24-0 victory over Union Grove.
*Pierce County QB Stetson Bennett rushed for 128 yards on just five carries and was 18-of-25 passing for 306 yards and two touchdowns in a 56-26 victory over Tattnall County.
*Rabun County QB Bailey Fisher was 14-of-19 passing for 302 yards and four touchdowns in a 60-12 victory over Oglethorpe County. Fisher played only a half.
*Richmond Hill QB Brian Hughes scored five touchdowns, rushed for 195 yards and was 7-of-16 passing for 135 yards in a 39-14 victory over Statesboro.
*Shaw RB Sydarrian Cobb rushed for 239 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries in a 34-24 victory over Columbus.
*South Forsyth WR Jalen Crump had seven catches for 107 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-7 victory over Northview.
*St. Pius HB/CB Grant Holloman caught a 62-yard pass that set up the winning touchdown and scored on a 1-yard run that put the nail in the coffin of a 24-14 victory over Marist. Holloman had three tackles on defense, one for a 5-yard loss that blew up a promising drive at the St. Pius 42.
*Stephenson DE Dennis Wonnum had seven tackles, four for losses, and three sacks in a 62-0 victory over Dunwoody.
*Stockbridge DE Charles Wiley had 3.5 sacks in a 35-13 victory over Luella.
*Treutlen QB/FS Tyler Benjamin was 10-of-15 passing for 283 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-18 victory over Montgomery County. Benjamin also scored two touchdowns, ran a two-point conversion and intercepted a pass.
*Union County RB Bo Lynch rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries in a 49-28 victory over Greene County.
*Upson-Lee QB Kalen Puckett rushed for 139 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries in a 35-7 victory over Perry. Puckett was 4-of-9 passing for 106 yards and a touchdown.
*Ware County LB/RB Dedrick Mills had 10 solo tackles, nine assists and two big hits on defense in a 14-7 loss to Glynn Academy. On offense, he had five knockdown blocks and 10 broken tackles.
*Westover RB Emory McKenzie rushed for 220 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries in a 26-7 victory over Americus-Sumter.
*Woodstock CB Deshaun Tanner caused a fumble, intercepted a pass, broke up four passes, made five solo tackles and had three assists in a 37-22 victory over Cherokee.
Lines of distinction
*Bainbridge's offensive line of C Curtis Brown, G Christian Glover, G Ernest Williams, T Charles Hightower, T Ladarius Garnes and TE Russell Wheeler opened holes for RB Dameon Pierce, who rushed for 190 yards in a 30-14 victory. Bainbridge averages 359 yards of total offense and 33.4 points per game and has a 1,000-yard rusher and 1,000-yard passer.
*Lanier's offensive line of OT Jake Smith, OG Juan Marin, C Nate Stiltner, OG Drew Allen, OG Hunter Beasley, OT Collin Foster and TE Will Bryan blocked for two 100-yard rushers in a 16-8 victory over Gainesville. Marcella Baity ran for 143 yards on 27 carries, and brother Marcko Baity rushed for 122 on 25.
*Mount Paran Christian's offensive line of T Ben Howard, G Gunter LaPrad, C Matthew Ramsey, G Brady Scott, T Wells Settylmeyer, TE John Allen Knox, TE Andy Crane and FB Ethan Pugh helped their team rush for 492 yards and allowed zero sacks on 12 passing attempts in a 41-20 victory over Walker. The group has blocked for RB Taylor Trammell, who leads the state with 225.2 yards rushing per game.
*Westover's offensive line of LT Djimon Green, LG Jacobi Cratic, C Caleb Williams, RG Raekwon Kennedy and RT Kelvin Lindsay paved the way for 379 rushing yards in a 26-7 victory over Americus-Sumter. All of the linemen are seniors. The win was Westover's first of the season.
