Makhala Jackson is a 6-foot guard who usually plays the post for her team, McIntosh Academy. There isn’t a position that she can’t play, though, and that was evident in a victory over Long County last week. She had a triple-double of 23 points, 21 rebounds and 11 steals. She also had eight assists and eight blocks.
‘’She’s a versatile player,’’ said her coach, Jessica Ross. ‘’She reads the ball well and can sit back and see where they’re passing or shooting it. She’s our tallest starter, but I play her at guard sometimes.’’
Jackson is a four-year starter with no official scholarship offers, although Georgia and Auburn have provided some attention. She averages 23.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, 6.3 steals, 4.8 assists and 3.6 blocks. McIntosh County Academy, near the coast, is 15-8 overall and leads Region 2-AA.
